Solayer Launches USDC-Powered Hotel Booking Platform To Give Crypto Travel a Boost

Solayer, the web3 infrastructure and DeFi Protocol, rapidly evolving into a crypto fintech brand has announced a major move in its growing portfolio of web3 consumer products. It has officially launched Solayer Travel, a blockchain‑powered hotel‑booking platform that will allow users to book million of leading hotels worldwide in USDC.

The platform will allow its Emerald Card holders to pay in USDC and enjoy deep discounts of  up to 60% compared to mainstream online travel agencies (OTAs).

By leveraging Solana’s high‑speed network and Visa’s global payment rails, Solayer aims to make crypto‑funded travel both seamless and cost‑effective for consumers and businesses alike.

How Solayer’s Travel Platform Works

Emerald Card, Solayer’s flagship USDC‑backed Visa card, has already gained traction among crypto enthusiasts. It offers real‑time on‑chain payments and a rewards program that accrues Emerald Points with every swipe.

Solayer Travel builds on this foundation by integrating a full booking interface directly into the Emerald Card dashboard. It allows users to search, compare, and reserve rooms without ever leaving the crypto ecosystem.

It will provide access to more than 1 million hotels, ranging from boutique inns in Europe to global chain properties, all with real‑time inventory and dynamic pricing.

As per the press release, it will allow users to save up to 60 % off published rack rates, with average savings of 35 % compared to major online travel agencies. By paying with USDC on Solana and settle transactions in seconds via Visa’s network, it will help in eliminating exchange delays and hidden fees.

Could this Challenge Tradition Booking Agencies?

Solayer Labs’ newly launched Solayer Travel is positioning itself as a focused challenger to incumbent online travel agencies by offering a blockchain‑native payment rail and enterprise‑grade expense controls.

Unlike traditional OTAs such as Booking.com or Expedia—which rely on fiat credit‑card settlement and multi‑day merchant float—Solayer Travel enables USDC check‑out on Solana. This comes with sub‑30‑second settlement, eliminating foreign‑exchange spreads and chargeback risk for hotels.

The platform’s ability to negotiate up to 60 % off published rack rates in stablecoin, combined with built‑in Visa guarantees, delivers a clear cost advantage for crypto‑savvy enterprises.

Further, adding on to its emeral card, it has recently introduced sub-cards too which will make payments more efficient. Through its Emerald Sub‑Cards, finance teams can issue virtual cards with hard spending limits and tagged expense metadata, automatically generating on‑chain receipts ready for ERP ingestion. Early adopters report lodging‑cost reductions of 20–30 % and reconciliation time cuts of 75 %.

Later this year, Solayer aims to expand its offerings to include global flights, eSIM data packs, airport lounge access, and concierge services as well.
