Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar met with European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Sunday (January 25), as the leaders arrived in New Delhi to attend Republic Day celebrations and conclude EU-India trade talks.Jaishankar also met with European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, along with a high-level Indian and European delegation in New Delhi.The trade deal is expected to open the way for reduced tariffs on European cars and wine and an expanded market for Indian electronics, textiles and chemicals. Negotiations were relaunched in 2022 after a nine-year pause, gaining traction last year amid rising global trade tensions.
