Keshav Prasad Maurya attends Jain Mahotsav, reviews Jhansi projects

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh’s deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya reached Jhansi on a day-long visit on Friday and participated in the Panch Kalyanak Pratishtha and Gajrath Mahotsav programs.

He received the blessings of the Jain community’s acharyas, monks, and saints and, by participating in religious rituals, prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and peace of the state and the country.

Deputy chief minister Maurya said that India’s cultural and spiritual tradition is unique in the world. The principles of non-violence, truth, sacrifice, and compassion propounded by Jainism continue to guide society even today. He said that such religious and cultural events strengthen moral values in society and inspire people to foster mutual love, harmony, and service.

During his stay, he held an important review meeting with senior officers of the district administration at the Circuit House and interacted with local public representatives, besides the public.

During the meeting, the deputy chief minister Maurya reviewed the progress of various development projects underway in the Jhansi division. He directed officials to expedite the work on the “Smart City” project and the “Har Ghar Jal” scheme, ensuring no compromise on quality. He clarified that the government’s goal is to ensure the benefits of development reach the lowest rung.

After the meeting, Maurya held a special discussion with the district’s MLAs and other public representatives. He inquired in detail about the problems and development needs of their areas. The deputy chief minister said that the role of MLAs is crucial in the region’s development, and the government is taking their suggestions seriously.
He also listened to the problems shared with him by the local people. He directed the officials present to resolve public complaints in a timely and transparent manner. He assured them that ignoring any public problem would not be tolerated.

“Today, development works, and the law and order were reviewed in Jhansi. Our government is committed to the all-round development of Bundelkhand. The opposition has no concrete issues; they are only playing negative politics,” he told the media.
