Blue drum horror in Lucknow: 19-year-old shoots father in front of sister, chops body and hides remains. The reason will shock you

In a disturbing incident, a 19-year-old youth shot his father, chopped his body and hid parts in a blue drum at their house in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, police said. The victim, a pathology lab owner, was shot dead, dismembered and parts of his body disposed of after a dispute with his son over his prospective career. The accused later confessed to the police that he murdered his father as he was pressuring him to crack the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET), reports TOI’s Pathikrit Chakraborty.

Police said the incident took place around 4.30 am on February 20 after the father-son duo had a heated argument, allegedly over pressure to clear the NEET. In a fit of rage, Akshat used a licensed rifle to shoot his father. Police said the accused shot his father in front of his sister and threatened her to remain silent.

How did he dump the body?

Akshat then dragged his father’s body from the third floor to the ground floor where he chopped it into pieces, loaded some parts into his car, and drove to Sadrauna, an isolated place where he dumped them. He also dumped his father’s head at the same place but it is yet to be found. But when he was going to dispose the torso on Monday evening, a police patrol stopped him because of his suspicious activity. After intense questioning, he confessed. Akshat planned to dispose it later but was accidentally caught by cops patrolling in the area before he could do so.
“He was in the process of getting rid of the body part when we intervened,” a police source revealed to TOI. “His inconsistent statements raised red flags. Strict interrogation led to his confession,” said DCP Central Zone, Vikrant Vir.

According to the police, Akshat managed a liquor store owned by his father and also received a monthly salary of Rs 17,000, but he was dissatisfied. A senior officer involved in the investigation said a ricocheted bullet was recovered from the room where the shooting occurred. Both the rifle and the bullet have been sent for forensic examination.
The victim was a native of Jalaun district, and his father is a retired police officer. His wife had died nine years ago. According to police, the boy had performed well in Class XII, and his father wanted him to clear the NEET exam. The family includes a son and a daughter, who is currently studying in Class XI. His younger brother serves in the UP Police and is posted at the secretariat.
Akshat’s father, Manvendra Singh, the police said, wanted his son to sit for competitive exams and pursue a medical career. But the son was against it. The two had frequent disputes over it and the young man had even run away from home once over it, according to NDTV.

Accused taken into custody

On Monday evening, officers raided the home with Akshat in custody and recovered the drum containing the mutilated remains. Forensic experts are examining bloodstains in the car and house, while teams are searching Sadrauna for the missing parts. Police said the accused shot his father in front of his sister and threatened her to remain silent. Forensic teams are examining the scene, and efforts are underway to recover the remaining body parts and establish the full sequence of events.
