Are rumours about Ace Frehley passing true? KISS guitarist on life support after brain bleed caused by fall, family considers ending support

Ace Frehley, the iconic founding lead guitarist of the legendary rock band KISS, is critically ill and on life support following a brain bleed sustained after a fall in his studio a few weeks ago according to a TMZ report.

While some social media posts prematurely reported his passing, credible reports clarify that he remains on a ventilator at this time. Fears of worsened health were compounded by multiple sources describing a grim prognosis.

Sources familiar with his condition confirm that despite being on a ventilator for some time, his health has shown no improvement, and his family is reportedly considering turning off life support, possibly as soon as Thursday evening.
The 74-year-old musician initially revealed on September 25, 2025, that he suffered a minor fall that required hospitalization, which led to canceling at least one tour date against his wishes. Subsequently, on October 6, Frehley announced via Instagram the cancellation of the remainder of his 2025 tour citing “ongoing medical issues”.

Ace Frehley was a founding member of KISS alongside Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss, contributing to seminal hits such as Rock and Roll All Nite, Detroit Rock City, and I Was Made for Lovin’ You. After departing the band in 1982 amid creative differences and personal struggles, he pursued a solo career with Frehley’s Comet and later reunited with KISS for tours before leaving again in 2002.

His influence as The Spaceman guitarist remains significant in rock history. Frehley’s ongoing health struggles have evoked an outpouring of support from the rock community and fans worldwide, with many hoping for his recovery even as his family faces difficult decisions ahead. This tragic development abruptly ended his active 2025 music year, which included touring in support of his 2024 solo album ‘10,000 Volts’ and plans to work on new material. As the family contemplates next steps, the rock world watches closely, honoring his legacy while hoping for clarity on his condition in the coming days.
