Charlie Kirk Assassination: What 911 call recordings from moments after Trump ally’s killing reveal

Two days after Charlie Kirk, the CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, was shot dead, multiple recordings of 911 calls from the moments after he was shot surfaced. According to CNN, the recordings revealed that multiple people among hundreds of spectators at his “American Comeback Tour” reported seeing him be struck by the bullet.

Around 20 recordings of 911 calls were released. Kirk, a close ally of US President Donald Trump, was shot dead while he was speaking during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday (September 10, 2025).

According to the recordings obtained by CNN, one caller said the “current speaker” at Utah Valley University “just got shot in the head.” Meanwhile, another caller claimed to have witnessed the shot originating “from above the railing, above the courtyard.” “He got shot right in the neck,” another 911 caller told dispatch.

Charlie Kirk shooting suspect arrested

Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah man was arrested in the killing of Kirk, authorities said Friday (September 12, 2025). “We got him,” Gov. Spencer Cox told reporters at a news conference announcing the arrest of Tyler Robinson in Wednesday’s killing of Kirk at Utah Valley University, as quoted by news agency AP. He was taken into custody Thursday night and is due in court early next week. Investigators believe he acted alone.

Kirk, the CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, was a top podcaster, culture warrior and ally of President Donald Trump. He led an effort to remake the GOP’s get-out-the-vote effort in the 2024 election based on the theory there were thousands of Trump supporters who rarely vote but could be persuaded to do so.
His killing was the latest in a string of attacks on U.S. politicians that have targeted members of both major parties. Cox, a Republican, said a family member of Robinson’s reached out to a friend, who contacted authorities with information that Robinson had confessed or implied that he carried out the shooting. “I want to thank the family members of Tyler Robinson who did the right thing,” he said.
