Bengaluru HDFC Bank employee killed by speeding Bullet biker while crossing road for lunch, CCTV captures crash


A 27-year-old bank employee died after a speeding Bullet motorcycle hit her while she was crossing Dr Rajkumar Road in Bengaluru on Monday afternoon. As per reports, the victim, Yogeshwari, worked with HDFC Bank and had stepped out for lunch when the crash happened. The rider, identified as Deepan (22), also suffered head injuries and is under treatment. Police have registered a case of causing death due to negligence and started an investigation.

Crash happened during lunch break

Police said the accident took place around 12:30 pm in front of the HDFC Bank branch on Dr Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar. Yogeshwari, who lived in Kempegowda Layout in Laggere, had stepped out with a colleague to buy lunch from an eatery opposite the bank.

“Yogeshwari and a few other colleagues often bought their lunch from an eatery opposite the bank. Similarly, on Monday, Yogeshwari was crossing the road holding the lunch packet in her hand. Deepak, who is a student, was riding at high speed and rammed into Yogeshwari,” an investigating officer said.
While her colleague paused to let the motorcycle pass, Yogeshwari misjudged the speed of the approaching vehicle and was hit with severe impact, police said.

Rushed to hospital, died of injuries

Both Yogeshwari and the rider suffered serious head injuries and were taken to Suguna Hospital for treatment. Doctors tried to save her, but she died due to heavy internal bleeding later in the evening.


“However, Yogeshwari succumbed around 9 pm. A case of causing death due to negligence was booked against Deepak,” police said, adding, “We will take a statement from Deepak once he recovers from injuries.”
Her body was later shifted to Victoria Hospital for post-mortem examination.The Rajajinagar Traffic Police have registered a case and begun a detailed probe into the accident. Investigators said they will record the rider’s statement once he recovers and will examine all aspects of the crash before taking further action.
