A 23-year-old man has struck a chord across Reddit after sharing a raw, emotional account of feeling like he has “not enjoyed life in six years.” Posted on r/Advice, the anonymous user revealed that he spends most days lying in bed, endlessly scrolling on his phone, with no job, no social life, and no sense of purpose.

The user, who described himself as 110 kg, socially isolated, and financially broke, wrote that his realization hit while watching YouTuber Mat Armstrong enjoying a trip to Barcelona with friends. “It hit me… when was the last time I actually had fun? And I realized it’s been 6 years,” he wrote. “I stay home all day, doing literally nothing. Nobody checks on me. If I disappeared tomorrow, no one would notice.”

Despite clarifying that he is not suicidal, he admitted feeling stuck, empty, and lost—“alive without actually living.”
