In Bihar politics, even small gestures can spark major debates. During a recent rally, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attempted to garland BJP candidate Rama Nishad but was stopped by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha. In an awkward moment, Nitish handed the garland to Nishad and then placed it around her neck himself, muttering to Jha, ‘Gazab aadmi hai.’ The clip quickly went viral, reigniting discussions about his health and fitness to lead Bihar. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav shared the footage on X, questioning Nitish’s mental state and asking, ‘If the chief minister is healthy, then why is he acting like this while reading a written speech?’ Tejashwi has repeatedly raised concerns, alleging Nitish’s party may be ‘deliberately putting him in this state.’ At the same rally, Nitish Kumar launched a pointed attack on his rival Lalu Prasad Yadav, accusing him of doing “nothing for women” during his tenure and highlighting his government’s initiatives for women’s empowerment over the past seven years. He emphasized that his administration works for all people, not just family interests.
